FIFTH ANNUAL SHAMROCK CLASSIC
ST. PATRICK'S WEEKEND
March 14th - 16th, 2008

Shamrock Classic Tournament is sanctioned by USSSA Basketball. All teams will become USSSA members.
USSSA's $25 annual membership fee will be collected at check-in.  This fee will cover the team's dues through July 31, 2008

You need to know this could be as many as 7 games(3 game guarantee) if you do not get eliminated. Pool games and an elimination tournament starting Saturday evening after you play 2-3 games.
I encourage you to look at the info from last season to get an idea of what your weekend may look like.

We 70 teams in this weekend, thanks to the overwhelming response!  Each team will be required to provide a book or clock keeper for each game. The tournament will be run under AAU rules for scoring pool play and other rule interpretation, including bench personnel. Because of the number of games we have to get in we will employ a 12 minute half.

We will be providing full concessions at all games.  We are trying to pattern the event in line with what you will find in your AAU events. For those who are traveling long distance, or have early/late games, our local hotels are providing some specials if  you ask for the contact person and let them know you are playing this weekend. There will be a $4 gate collected Friday, $7 Saturday, and $5 Sunday. We will have tournament passes available for $11 and $33 for your immediate family.

Clock runs in second half when a team has a lead larger than 20 points,
no full court press by leading team at that point.

3rd grade will play under the rules adopted by HGBL 3rd grade. Specifically:
1) There will be no pressing on defense, (pressing will be allowed last 30 seconds of 4th quarter and overtime) the defense can begin after the offensive player crosses mid-court. 
(MAN TO MAN DEFENSE ONLY) (Double teaming Allowed Below Free Throw line extended)
2) Free throw line will be 12 feet. 
3) Overtime will be two minutes. If the first overtime ends in a tie, the second overtime will be sudden death. 
4) Lane violations will be called after 5 seconds.
